Jedi (/ ˈdʒɛdaɪ / ⓘ), Jedi Knights, or collectively the Jedi Order are fictional characters, and often protagonists, featured in many works within the Star Wars franchise.

A Jedi, often called a Jedi Knight, was a devotee to the ways of the Jedi Order, an ancient order of protectors united by their ability to harness the power of the Force.

A noble order of protectors unified by their ability to tap into the power of the Force, the Jedi Order were the guardians of peace and justice in the Galactic Republic.
